SipSpot Privacy Policy

SipSpot ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Location — We request access to your device location while the app is in use. This is used solely to center the map near you and show nearby restaurants. We do not store or transmit your location to our servers.
Account information — If you create an account, we collect your email address. This is stored securely via Supabase and used only to authenticate you and remember your saved spots.
Saved spots & favorites — If you are signed in, the spots you bookmark are stored in our database so they sync across devices.
Problem reports — If you submit a report about a spot or the app, we store the message and (if signed in) your user ID to help us follow up.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We do not collect payment information.
We do not track your location in the background.
We do not use advertising networks or analytics SDKs.

Third-Party Services

Supabase — Our backend database and authentication provider. See supabase.com/privacy.
Apple Maps / Google Maps — Used to render the in-app map. Subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

Account data and saved spots are retained as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from inside the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You do not need to contact us, and there is no waiting period — the deletion happens immediately.

Deleting your account removes your profile, username, profile photo, bio, saved spots, and friend connections from our systems. Reports and spot suggestions you submitted are kept so the listings stay accurate, but they are anonymised: the link back to you is erased along with your account.

Children's Privacy

SipSpot is intended for users 21 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
